Annual Day 2015
Annual Day for Frederick India was organized and held on Dec 12 2015. Baton for leadership was passed from the able hands of Chaaya Lagowala to Bijay Dash. Elections were held the same night, and a new slate of candidates was nominated. The program had an excellent set of participants, as usual. It was a great time to catch up with old friends and make a few new ones as always

2015 - Parent's Day Picnic
Fun has just begun. After a successful Musical evening, IAF is bringing another fun filled event “Parents Day Picnic”. All are invited to join in this event. Event is on June 21st, 2015. More information is available under “Events” tab. Email will be sent out soon as well.

New 2015 Board in Place
IAF elections were conducted on Annual Day held in December 2014. It had been postponed multiple times due to snow.
New Officers for IAF for the current year 2015-2016 are as follows:
Chhaya Lagowala – President
Bijay Dash – Vice-President
Bharat Deolekar – Treasurer
Ajay Phogat – Secretary
Seema Sharma – Jt. Secretary
Nilesh Rawal – Youth Secretary
Additionally the team consists of following un-elected members
Past President – Manoj Thakkar
Cultural Outreach – Manish Desai

After successful evenings of Festival of India, as well as both Garba celebrations, IAF is announcing Diwali Celebration with Dhamaka…. 2014- Musical Evening
Kudos to the entire Executive Committee for a “well-executed” event, Musical Evening. Everyone worked really hard, before, during and after the program, which was seen during the entire program.
Thank you all for members and Frederick families for coming and making our first event of the year very successful. Thank you all for your help during the program.

Come, enjoy a journey through India’s diverse culture, from various forms of Indian Classical dances to upbeat, modern Bollywood songs and dances that will rock you to the core! And don’t miss shaking a leg (or two!) to the intense energetic moves at the Bhangra Workshop during the festival!!
Enjoy delicious Indian food—Samosas, Chaat, Naan, Tandoori chicken, and more. Don’t forget to get henna at the festival!
Date: Saturday, September 21st, 2013 from 5:00 pm onwards

This festive celebration is being attended by delegates of the county and the state. Please come in with your family and friends to get a glimpse of India through the Festival of India in Frederick, MD.

We encourage you to submit any articles you would like about India or Indian culture and heritage to be included in the Festival of India 2013 Brochure this year. Please submit the article on or before September 5th, 2012 to Kunjan Butala (kbutala@yahoo.com) or at IAF (iaf_frederick@frederickindia.org). Topics may include your incredible experiences during your visit to India, articles about Indian culture, Yoga, famous Indian personalities, etc. for consideration by Brochure publishing team.

Mother's Day Picnic 2013
The Executive Committee at IAF, Inc. would like to thank each and every member and participant for making the Musical Program a big success. A very special thanks to guest speakers and all participants for singing so melodiously all the golden memories of Bollywood. We would also like to thank all the new members and special donors in support to the Musical Evening.
With this, we would like to announce our next program, coming up this Sunday, Mother’s Day
MOTHER’S DAY PICNIC
Sunday, May 12th, 2013
Time: 12:00noon onwards
Ballenger Creek Park
Frederick, MD
We have planned the day filled with all the fun and exciting programs for this day. There will be Games, Outdoor activities, Fresh Corns, Thanda Thanda Watermelon, of course the Tasty Indian Food, and many other items/activities. Please join us for this “FIRST OUTDOOR EVENT” of this year.
If you have any suggestion, please pass it on to us and we will surely look into the same. Any thoughts/suggestions are most welcome. After all, it’s our program and we have to enjoy it.
All these games/food will be arranged by IAF, Inc. However, everyone will have to contribute towards the cost of food, etc, like we do each year. The rates will be same as last year:
All members & their family members (all children of age above 5 years has to pay): $5
Any non-members (above age 5 years): $10
All children of age 5 and under will enjoy FREE
We would also like to thank Dr. Praful Dave, who has agreed to educate us on following very important topics that affects everyone’s life:
– Stroke
– Migraine
– Sleep Apnea
We would again like to thank everyone for the support and help during our past programs. We hope to receive the same support for all the future programs
Soon after Mother’s Day picnic will be our next major event, the Festival of India (FOI) on Saturday, September 14th at the Armory in Frederick with lots of cultural activities and fun. Please mark this date on your calendar.
